Our OBGYN Philosophy
Every woman deserves to be healthy. Every woman deserves quality health care. That is the philosophy that guided our founding partners Dr. Geoffrey Sher and Dr. Victor Knutzen as they launched their Reno OBGYN practice back in 1977 and helped establish the Pregnancy Center at Washoe Medical Center (now Renown Regional Medical Center). That same philosophy continues to guide our practice today.
After 30 years providing the women of Reno and Northern Nevada with outstanding obstetric and gynecologic care, the practice was renamed Women’s Health Specialists of Nevada in 2008. The new name reflects our holistic approach to women’s health and our commitment to providing complete health care at every stage of a woman’s life.
The gynecologist, obstetricians, midwives and therapists of Women’s Health Specialists (WHS) offer a collaborative approach to health care where patients benefit from collective and individual expertise. WHS is able to offer a wide range of gynecologic and obstetric specialists, a wealth of experience, and a diversity of practice styles.
Women’s Health Specialists is a patient-focused practice committed to meeting the individual needs of each woman in their care. Same day appointments are almost always available.
